I missed Sepia Saturday but thought I'd commemorate Christmas shopping of days gone by.

I love these old photos! Especially that the santa with Mrs. R. had such great eyebrows!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are wonderfully nostalgic. I loved holiday shopping in big department stores as a child -- it was a magical world, captured in your photos. Alas, the big box stores just don't offer the same experience. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI also remember the olden days when department stores lavishly decorated their windows and put out giant displays of toys. Looking back at your fun photo medley, it seems a magical time now. Sadly nothing ever stays the same. Even Santa Claus changed with the times.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your family much peace and love for the new year.
Interesting to see there was so much Christmas shopping going on even in the early 20th century.
