Sepia Saturday: Winter!
We've got great inspiration this week for Sepia Saturday, two 19th century children elegantly bundled up for the snow.
Below is what winter images I found in the Library of Congress' archives.

That sleigh race in the "American winter scene" looks very dramatic, really giving the feeling of great speed.
ReplyDeletePerfect selection of photographs to match the prompt! All great, but my fav' is the first one with that totally bundled up toddler on the sled. So cute. :)
ReplyDeleteA winter wonderland selection! Having played Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride" almost every Christmas season since my high school years, I've always been attracted to the idea of riding through a snowwhite winter landscape in a horse-drawn sleigh. In the age before the automobile it must have been a real thrill to fly over snow covered roads as fast as a horse could trot. Maybe some day I'll get a chance.
ReplyDeleteGreat matches to the prompt photograph. My favourite that very energetic sleigh race - and I love the house.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures.
