Woodworking
This week bloggers are challenged to share images inspired by the photo above. First I found a similar photo of high school students at a Chicago school. I love that these boys are wearing ties.

If you want to delve deeper into these old classes, check out the video below. It seems the narrator has a voice I've heard a millions times.
Boy, do I know about building forms for concrete foundations! Good classroom woodworking photos, and the video was interesting in that I've actually done some of what was shown - measuring and building plywood foundation forms. :)
ReplyDeleteAll the high schoolers in my post are also wearing ties and most also suits. Didn't realize it until I read your comment above. I wonder what they are notching. Looks like piles of sticks in front of each student. What could they have been making? Or were they just practicing notching?
ReplyDeleteGood for those boys, learning how to use the tools of carpentry, which was the main goal I'd imaging!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices for our theme. I enjoyed video too since I've been both a carpenter and furniture maker at times. I bet my dad watched that film too, as ever since high school he had a lifelong passion for building and fixing stuff.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent match to this week’s prompt.
