How time flies. It's already time for the Uptown neighborhood's Art Week. This year rather than painting the concrete at the bottom of the train pillars, artists had a 4' by 4' canvas attached at the top to another canvas to paint however they liked. Here's a few of the pieces I saw.







Well, time didn't fly that fast, this feature (below) reports that last year the Uptown Art Week was in August.

  Sepia Saturday has challenged bloggers with a photo of a man playing solitaire. Playing cards, solo or with others, is a fine pastime. I fondly remember my grandmother teaching me and my siblings to shuffle cards and play gin. An aunt tried to teach us poker. Bridge is a game that seems to have ended with my mother's generation. She still plays, but I never learned. (I do have one friend from high school who joined the high school bridge club. Now I wish I had.)   Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some timely catching up with friends (old and new)! If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about the talk i heard last night. My neighbor, Art Muir gave a talk about his Everest climb. At 75, Art’s the oldest American to reach the summit. He started mountain climbing at age 68 and has climbed several other high mountains. He first attempted Everest in 2019, but was injured and had to turn back. This time he made it. His photos ad videos were stunning. His narrative was witty, humble and fascinating. I did discover another glorious church with stunning architecture, St. Gregory the Great. Built in 1924, the current building exemplifies the influence of Medieval Gothic (aka English Gothic).
