Here's my Monday Murals contribution. I saw it in the Edgewater neighborhood. I'm not sure, but I think this is a young Dolly Parton or maybe Farah Fawcett. Who do you think it is?

  Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some timely catching up with friends (old and new)! If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about the talk i heard last night. My neighbor, Art Muir gave a talk about his Everest climb. At 75, Art’s the oldest American to reach the summit. He started mountain climbing at age 68 and has climbed several other high mountains. He first attempted Everest in 2019, but was injured and had to turn back. This time he made it. His photos ad videos were stunning. His narrative was witty, humble and fascinating. I did discover another glorious church with stunning architecture, St. Gregory the Great. Built in 1924, the current building exemplifies the influence of Medieval Gothic (aka English Gothic). Weekend Coffee Share

  If we were having coffee, or in my case tea, I'd say it was a quiet but good week. Sunday was Palm Sunday and I went to church with my parents. Usually, the scripture readings are dramatized with different priests and the congregation reading different parts. At this church they had a parishioner who's a professional actor. He did all the roles and it was riveting. While a service can be great without a professional actor, this was excellent in a new way for me. (I usually attend a different church.)  I had a job interview for a short term teacher training/English workshop in Albania. The students will be Afghan women and it'll last about 6 weeks. I don't know anything about Albania so if I get an offer and I accept, I'll have to look into the country. I'm pretty zen-like about the job. It sounds like this NGO is organized and professional. Graciously hosted by Natalie the Explorer, Weekend Coffee Share s a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some timely catching up with friends (old and new)! If we were having coffee, I'd get a skinny chai latte as the temps are comfortably lower.  I can't believe it, but I don't think I've been to my usual coffee purveyor for 3 full weeks. I'll go back, but it's good to know that I can kick some habits. Getting off of sweets is a much tougher nut to crack. If you think that I'm on a new platform, you're right. I've left WordPress because I didn't want to pay yet again for more image space. That got pricey. Google did me wrong, gravely wrong in 2011 when I was hacked, but I plan to back up a lot and keep my eyes open for a better home.  For now I'm here. Welcome.
