Sepia Saturday

Now that I'm back home, I'm delighted to create a Sepia Saturday post. This week I searched the Library of Congress for some photos of girls on chairs.

  1. The kids in these posts all look so wideeyed and serious.

  2. I agree with Kristin, they all look too serious, especially the two sisters. It's as if they've never seen a camera before and don't know what will happen.

  3. They are all very cute and seem in awe of the camera.

  4. Three lovely photogrpahs, spot on the match. My favourite is the first image - she is so bonny. The second little girl looks totally fed up of the whole exercise - an elaborate chair and a fur cushion seem to be the fashionable setting for such portraits both sides of the Atlantic (see my post)

  5. Hard to believe that one is an African American girl...I wonder if she could "pass." Those last two not only had a table next to them on one side (as we are led to look at) but a hand on the other side, which was probably going to position them again if they wiggled.

  6. I can imagine the sisters' parent off camera giving them instructions.
