Scary

I have no idea why a hostel, which aims to welcome travelers, would have this bizarre, hostile, manic mural in its stairway, How many people might turn around and find somewhere else to stay.

I have no idea what the Chinese says. Do I want to know?

    I agree with you, it is a bit scary. With the American flag's colours would it be something against the Americans? Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

      I just don't know. The red stars are definitely a reference to China. The colors are in the US, French, UK and Australian flags, perhaps others.

Sepia Saturday

  Sepia Saturday has challenged bloggers with a photo of a man playing solitaire. Playing cards, solo or with others, is a fine pastime. I fondly remember my grandmother teaching me and my siblings to shuffle cards and play gin. An aunt tried to teach us poker. Bridge is a game that seems to have ended with my mother's generation. She still plays, but I never learned. (I do have one friend from high school who joined the high school bridge club. Now I wish I had.) Weekend Coffee Share

  If we were having coffee, I'd have you over and offer you some honey citron tea that I got at an Asian grocery store. Give it a try. But if it's not your thing, I've got tea and coffee. You'd be able to see that it's been gray and rainy out, which is way I loved going to The Garfield Park Conservatory with my friend Patti. Timely - Peace for Ukraine It's so energizing to visit a greenhouse or conservatory when the weather's gloomy. On Thursday I made Chinese food for my parents, sister and sister-in-law. My sister was here on business from Utah so we got to see her. The food wasn't as good as the first Chinese dinner I made last month. I'm not quite sure why. I've started my taxes and am doing some spring cleaning to declutter. I want to get rid of the papers I don't need which seem to proliferate.
