Weekend Coffee Share

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some timely catching up with friends (old and new)!

If we were having coffee, I'd tell you I'm getting a hang of my job. I'm still working 10 hours a day six days a week, but I've created a "poor woman's standing desk" using some cardboard boxes and that's done a world of good for my back and neck. When I taught there were times when I worked 60 hours or more a week, but I had a lot of latitude. I could take whatever breaks I wanted; I could grade papers at a café if I liked. Sometimes I would work with colleagues, which energized me. I'm just glad I haven't needed to take time off. One colleague's mother died and they refused to give her bereavement leave. Since we're new, they only allowed her to take 4 hours off for paid leave. It was her mother

Thursday my sister came to town. Since her birthday was last Tuesday, my local siblings and their kids gathered to celebrate. We went to one of  my favorite restaurants so that was a plus. Yesterday my sister-in-law invited us for brunch to meet my nephew's girlfriend. They live in Minnesota so we don't see my nephew often.

Warm and sunny the weather is terrific. I love how the leaves are turning color.

  1. It sounds like your job is taxing. In my neck of the woods most of the leaves are still green.
